The South Gate Tower in Dali Ancient City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, is regarded as the symbol of the ancient city. First built in 1382, it has stood for more than six centuries. The tower's distinctive architectural style reflects the elegance and dignity of Ming Dynasty palace design.
