APEC Stories: China, Japan, S. Korea unite on environmental action
Editor's note: The 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1. CGTN's "APEC Stories" series will showcase cooperation and culture of 21 APEC economies through visual storytelling.
In September, a new joint action plan on environmental cooperation for the 2026-2030 period was adopted at the 26th Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting among China, Japan and South Korea. The plan outlines a series of cooperative activities across eight priority areas, laying a solid foundation for trilateral environmental collaboration over the next five years. The annual meeting, hosted on a rotational basis by the three countries since 1999, serves as the highest-level platform for environmental cooperation among them.
As the world faces common environmental challenges, China, Japan and South Korea are joining hands to promote regional green transformation and build a more sustainable and beautiful community through enhanced cooperation mechanisms.
