At the Archery World Cup Final in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, World Archery Executive Director and Acting Secretary General Juan Carlos Holgado expressed his excitement over the addition of the compound mixed team event in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics archery program. He also shared his hopes for the event's wider popularisation following its Olympic debut.

Holgado said, "I am very excited about the potential for compound archery to attract more attention and receive increased media coverage. There will be only one gold medal for the mixed team event at the Los Angeles Olympics, but we will assess its impact afterward. There may even be changes by the Brisbane Olympics. In any case, our current priority is to promote the development of this event. China is developing rapidly in this discipline, and we hope they will qualify for the Olympics."

He added that China's compound archery programme is growing quickly. "I had in-depth discussions with the Chinese team leaders and learned that China is developing rapidly in compound archery. I expect the standard of Chinese compound archery to improve significantly. While Chinese archers have not yet reached the world's top ten, the Chinese team has the advantage of scale, excellent talent reserves, and strong team support. I look forward to seeing China qualify for the mixed team event at the Olympics three years from now."
