Editor's note: The 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1. CGTN's "APEC Stories" series showcases cooperation and culture among the 21 APEC economies through visual storytelling.

The Kremlin, located in Russia's capital Moscow, stands as one of the country's most iconic architectural landmarks. The Spasskaya Tower, the main tower on the eastern wall of the Kremlin, is one of its most iconic parts. Overlooking the Red Square, the tower rises 71 meters high, including the ruby star that crowns its top. Every New Year's Eve, the chimes welcoming the arrival of the new year ring out from the Spasskaya Tower.

Its image also appears on Russia's new 100-ruble banknote, unveiled by the Central Bank in 2022, as well as on the commemorative coin that Russia issued in 2019 to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia.
