The Shituo Yangtze River Bridge on the Chongqing-Wanzhouhigh-speed railway saw its first steel girder installed on October 17, marking a major step toward completion. The 1,416.9-meter bridge will set four world records, including the tallest twin-tower design and the largest span for a rail-road combined cable-stayed bridge. Once finished, the railway will shorten travel between Chongqing and Wanzhou to under one hour.
