Editor's note: The 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1. CGTN's "APEC Stories" series showcases cooperation and culture among the 21 APEC economies through visual storytelling.

Meet the Philippine tarsier, one of the smallest primates in the world. This protected species of the Philippines is listed as Near Threatened by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species. With its enormous eyes, the Philippine tarsier has exceptional night vision and makes its home in the lush rainforests. To safeguard this precious animal, the Philippines has strengthened its conservation efforts, establishing the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary in Bohol for its preservation and protection.
