The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday reiterated that tariff war or trade war serves no one's interests, after the United States threatened Beijing with possible export controls over airplane parts.

"China's position on handling economic and trade issues with the US is consistent and clear-cut," Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the ministry, told reporters at a regular press briefing.

China and the US should resolve relevant issues through consultations on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit, Guo noted.
