As part of the initial phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the United Nations has started efforts to clear rubble from the region. Jaco Cilliers, the special representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) assisting the Palestinian people, said that the total amount of rubble to be cleared across the Gaza Strip could be between 55 million and 60 million tons. The estimated cost for reconstruction is around $70 billion.
