Dongluo Village in Xinghua, east China's Jiangsu Province, has been listed among UN Tourism's 2025 Best Tourism Villages – the first rural destination in Jiangsu to receive this honor.
Bordered by the Qianduo scenic area to the east, Pingwang Lake to the south, and acres of orchard zones to the north, Dongluo is famed for its "earth art" – fields of rapeseed flowers interwoven with winding waterways. For generations, the locals have shaped this unique landscape by digging rivers and piling fertile soil into raised fields.
Today, during the peak tourist season, local homestays are fully booked, and many villagers have turned their homes into guesthouses, boosting both tourism and household incomes while preserving the village's living heritage.
