Paris Saint-Germain ran riot as the reigning titleholders stormed to a commanding 7-2 victory at Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, moving to the top of the UEFA Champions League standings after three matches.

The visitors from France took an early lead in the seventh minute when Willian Pacho headed home. Leverkusen's situation worsened in the 32nd minute when the German side's captain, Robert Andrich, was sent off for elbowing Desire Doue.

PSG also went down to 10 men after Illia Zabarnyi tripped Christian Kofane, giving the hosts a penalty kick. Aleix Garcia converted from the spot to level the score at 1-1.

But Leverkusen's joy lasted just three minutes, as Doue restored PSG's lead, exploiting significant gaps in the home team's defense following Andrich's dismissal.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 3-1 with a precise shot off the post just before halftime, with the hosts in complete disarray. Doue then scored his second goal, effectively sealing PSG's third consecutive win in this season's continental competition.

Nuno Mendes extended the lead to 5-1 in the 50th minute, before Garcia pulled another goal back for Leverkusen four minutes later.

Ousmane Dembele added a sixth with a simple tap-in in the 66th minute, shortly after coming on, before Vitinha completed PSG's 7-2 rout in the 90th.
