Today marks the 89th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March. The strategic campaign took place between 1934 and 1936.

In order to promote the spirit of the revolutionary martyrs and protect the relics and cultural resources associated with this historic event, in January 2017, China put forward a proposal to create the Long March National Cultural Park.

With its sites passing through 15 provinces along the Long March route, the Long March National Cultural Park has, in recent years, been exploring revolutionary relics and cultural resources along route and breathing new life into historical sites through technology methods.

For example, at the Long March Digital Art Museum in southwest China's Guiyang City, visitors flock daily to experience key historical events such as the Zunyi Conference and the Red Army's crossing of snowy mountains and grasslands. Through holographic imaging, virtual reality, 3D animation and multimedia effects, audiences experience those moments as if they were side by side with the Red Army soldiers.

At the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall, VR technology vividly recreates historic scenes for visitors. A stage performance, which dynamically recreates the Long March, has been performed over 800 times and attracted more than 280,000 viewers at the hall.

With the Long March National Cultural Park's construction steadily advancing, local revolutionary sites and memorial venues have been restored and improved.
