When the Chinese Navy hospital ship Peace Ark visited South Africa in 2024, Sinovuyo Mkula, a local undergraduate student of Traditional Chinese Medicine volunteered onboard. Inspired by the experience, she later traveled to China to continue her studies. Now based in Shanghai, she's building connections with Chinese doctors, including some she once worked with at sea.
