To mark the International Day of the Snow Leopard, which falls on October 23 each year, a themed exhibition was held at the Xining Wildlife Park. Through photos, videos and related objects, the exhibition showcased the lives of the snow leopards rescued in Qinghai over the years, attracting many visitors – including groups of students on study tours.
The snow leopard enjoys top-level national protection in China and is primarily found in regions such as Qinghai, Xizang and Gansu. In recent years, a total of 12 snow leopards were rescued by rangers at the Xining Wildlife Park, which is also home to the wildlife rescue and breeding center in Qinghai. Several leopards have been released back into the wild after a recovery period. Ling Xiaozhe and Ling Xiaomang, the two snow leopards rescued by the center this year, are currently recovering at the park.
