The head of the Louvre Museum in Paris said on Wednesday the museum was not able to detect "sufficiently in advance" the thieves who stole eight jewels in a brazen heist. The Louvre reopened on Wednesday, three days after thieves made off with historic jewelry worth an estimated 88 million euros ($102 million) in a heist that has raised urgent questions over security lapses at the museum.
