Since 1987, Taiwan writer Lan Bozhou has been researching the story of Wu Sihan, a patriotic young man who lived in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period. A series of clues eventually led him to Wu Tiaohong, who revealed the location of his elder brother's ashes. Standing before Wu Sihan's last resting place, Lan Bozhou had some moving words to say. Addressing him as "Elder Wu" he said: "We've come to pay our respects to you. You've waited far too long."
