The first day of the China-U.S. economic and trade talks concluded in Malaysia on Saturday.

The two sides are expected to hold consultations on key issues in China-U.S. economic and trade relations, in line with the important consensus reached between the two heads of state during their phone conversations earlier this year.

The Chinese delegation is led by Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

The U.S. delegation is represented by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
