The Global Mayors Dialogue opened on Friday in Zhengzhou, central China's Henan Province. The event brought together nearly 300 guests from 18 countries and regions, along with representatives from five international organizations. Participants discussed how cities can protect cultural heritage while driving modernization and sustainable growth. Mayors from China, Ghana, New Zealand, Italy and Indonesia shared their experiences in tourism, city governance and urban renewal. They explored ways to turn cultural strength into economic vitality through cooperation and exchange. The event also featured visits to the Henan Museum, interactive dialogues and cultural and tourism cooperation activities. These exchanges aim to deepen mutual understanding, strengthen global connections and advance the Global Civilization Initiative.
