"Harmony between human and nature" is a phrase often written in policy papers. But it is now becoming tangible in China's city parks, lakesides, and woodlands. Nature is no grand slogan but a part of daily life – a running trail, a patch of grass, a breath of fresh air. From the 14th Five-Year Plan to the recommendations for the upcoming 15th, green development has evolved beyond a policy direction driving industrial transformation; it has become a way of life woven into daily routines. It appears in ecological restoration projects and in the details of urban renewal; it is manifested in the transformation of energy systems and in the freshness of every breath. As China develops, green is returning to the center – rebuilding the relationship between people and nature in this new era.
