An awards ceremony was held by China Media Group (CMG) on Friday in Beijing to honor individuals who made contributions to cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Italy. A team of 141 Chinese artists were honored during the ceremony titled "From Beijing to Rome – A Series of Awards Ceremonies for Cultural Exchanges Between China and Italy."

To mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Italy and welcome the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, CMG held a special art exhibition at the Lincean Academy in Rome with the Italian Ministry of Culture and other organizations in June this year. It featured works of art by more than 100 contemporary artists of Chinese calligraphy and painting, representatives of intangible cultural heritage, and skilled artisans, as well as collections from the Museum of Civilizations in Italy.

Respected Dunhuang art scholar Chang Shana, who served as the exhibition's honored general counsel, received a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony.
