China has made significant progress in the fields of science and technology during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence. The 15th Five-Year Plan states that it is important to vigorously implement the innovation-driven development strategy.

It's a big question and a challenge for us — how to connect larger investments in R&D with an innovative society — and we need to learn from China's experience and success in this, said Klemen Boštjančič, minister of finance of the Republic of Slovenia, in an interview with CGTN host Michael Wang at the Bund Summit 2025.
