Home favourites Sui Wenjing and Han Cong made a solid return to figure skating in Chongqing by coming away with bronze at the ISU Grand Prix Cup of China.
Returning to the rink together after more than three years, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic gold medalists demonstrated clear focus, despite downgraded jumps and a few shaky landings from Han. Their long program, set to the music from the Chinese dance drama "A Tapestry of a Legendary Land", earned them 130.47 points, 25 points short of their personal best from 2019.
The score was sufficient for a third-place finish, giving them 202.92 points. Georgia's reigning world junior champions, Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava, claimed the gold medal, while Italian pair Sara Conti and Niccolo Macii took silver.
