The work of painting the exterior walls of the Potala Palace in Xizang got underway on October 22. The UNESCO World Heritage site, which has a history spanning more than 1,300 years, is repainted every year to restore its vibrant colors, which fade in the rainy season. This year's project is expected to last until mid-to-late November.
