China's economic ties with other Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members continue to deepen, with APEC economies playing a crucial role in China's trade and investment landscape.
In 2024, the Chinese mainland's trade with other APEC members expanded, totaling $3.66 trillion, accounting for 59.3 percent of its total trade.
Outbound investment to APEC economies reached $164 billion, 85.3 percent of the Chinese mainland's total outward foreign direct investment (FDI), with China's Hong Kong and Singapore remaining key destinations. Meanwhile, $93.9 billion of FDI flowed from APEC members into the Chinese mainland, representing 80.6 percent of total inflows.
These figures highlight the enduring interdependence between China and the wider Asia-Pacific region, as trade and investment ties within APEC continue to serve as vital drivers of regional growth and economic integration.
