Editor's Note: How close are we to achieving true gender equality? As global conflicts intensify and climate challenges grow, the world is once again reminded of the urgent need for inclusive progress and gender parity. In this episode of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sits down with Christine Arab, regional director of UN Women for Asia and the Pacific, to discuss the outcomes of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women held in Beijing on October 13–14, a summit that reaffirmed China's strong commitment to women's empowerment. The conversation explores China's achievements in advancing women's rights 30 years after the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, as well as UN Women's partnership with China and areas for future cooperation. Arab commends China for its remarkable progress and calls for deeper global cooperation, echoing the belief that "women hold up half the sky." She also discusses global efforts toward achieving the UN 2030 gender equality goals and how leadership, policy, and perception can shape a more equal world.
