The Chongyang Festival is an ancient Chinese tradition that is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth month based on the traditional Chinese calendar, which falls on October 29 this year. It centers around honoring the elderly and climbing mountains to promote physical fitness and embody the ancient philosophy of "harmony between man and nature." The festival was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
