In the course of little more than a decade, Xu Lu has crossed the Taiwan Straits many times. What has made his voyages unusual is that he has made them in replicas of traditional treasure ships, which he himself has built. In 2025, on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival, Xu Lu returned to Yuegang Port to begin work on a replica of one of the celebrated Ming Dynasty admiral Zheng He's treasure ships.
