October 29 is the Double Ninth Festival, also known as Chongyang Festival, a traditional day in China to honor and care for the elderly. In Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province, a grand feast was held to celebrate the occasion, inviting more than 1,000 villagers aged 60 and above to share food, laughter and stories. Meanwhile, in Lyuliang City, more than 300 senior citizens performed Tai Chi, a traditional Chinese martial art.
