The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China conducted a full-region rehearsal on Wednesday for the upcoming launch of the Shenzhou-21 crewed spacecraft – a crucial step toward mission readiness. Officials confirmed that the manned spaceflight launch complex is now fully prepared.
To ensure mission success, the launch site has undergone comprehensive upgrades and optimizations to key infrastructure and procedures.
Hu Yonggang from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center told China Media Group (CMG) that a new data and operations center has been established following the principles of centralized deployment and functional zoning.
"The renovated communications room now supports remote operations and monitoring. Equipment status, room temperature and humidity and various parameters can be clearly observed, allowing staff to perform checks and troubleshooting efficiently," he explained.
In preparation for the mission, the launch site has also implemented a differentiated maintenance strategy for its facilities and equipment, carrying out inspections by level, category and schedule. This approach aims to shift equipment management from "broad coverage" to "precise control."
Precise temperature control of the launch tower is another critical factor in maintaining both a suitable environment for the rocket and the safety of its propellant. The technical team has focused on detailed and comprehensive measures to ensure stable environmental conditions for rocket testing and launch.
According to Zhang Fan from the Jiuquan center, "With the support of big data from our intelligent operation center, we can assess ground equipment status in real time and dynamically adjust maintenance frequency. By aligning plans with the specific requirements of gas, electrical, hydraulic, and pressure systems, we've improved both the efficiency and quality of ground equipment inspections and maintenance."
The China Manned Space Agency announced on Friday that the Shenzhou-21 crewed spaceship will be launched at an appropriate time in the near future.
