Tian Xuan, dean of the National Institute of Financial Research at Tsinghua University, told CGTN that finance should play a stronger role in driving sci-tech innovation — by expanding direct financing, fostering "patient capital" and improving market mechanisms to better support private enterprises and new quality productive forces.
