Trump says expects to have 'fantastic' long-term relationship with Xi

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Busan, the Republic of Korea.

President Trump said he was greatly honored to meet his long-time friend once again. "It is an honor to be with a friend of mine for a long time. We are about to have some discussions with the very distinguished and respected president of China," he said.

Trump noted that the two sides had already reached consensus on many aspects and expected to make further progress.

"President Xi is a great leader of a great country," he added. "I believe we are going to build a fantastic relationship for a long period of time, and it is an honor to have you with us."
