As the world continues to age, how can we turn this demographic shift into an opportunity for growth and innovation?
In this episode of Health Talk, Professor Wang Hongman, director of the Institute of Health and Society at Southeast University of China, redefines what it means to age well in modern society. She believes every family can become a "university for seniors," where intergenerational learning nurtures both health and happiness.
From intelligent meal planners to robotic caregivers, Wang explores how artificial intelligence and smart technologies are transforming senior care – making aging with dignity a practical reality rather than a distant ideal.
More importantly, she calls on society to respect aging as a stage of wisdom, suggesting terms such as "silver society" or "wise society" to replace outdated notions of burden. Aging, she emphasizes, is not the end of vitality but the continuation of human value and connection.
