The Global Dialogue on Innovation, Openness, and Shared Development – Uruguay Session was held in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The event was co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, delivered a video speech. He said CMG would work with global partners to build an open platform for dialogue and collaboration.

China's development cannot be achieved without the world, and the world's prosperity also needs China, Shen said, adding that CMG is ready to join hands with all partners to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

China's Ambassador to Uruguay Huang Yazhong noted that China and Uruguay enjoy a long-standing friendship, serving as a model of mutual respect and cooperation between countries with different political systems, economic scales and cultural backgrounds. He expressed China's readiness to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Uruguay.

Uruguay's Defense Minister Sandra Lazo said the dialogue offers an important opportunity to enhance exchanges and cooperation among nations. She stressed that, in a world full of challenges, strengthening dialogue and international collaboration is essential to maintaining stability and mutual trust, reaffirming Uruguay's commitment to working with China to promote peace, innovation and sustainable development.

Participants also held discussions on the significance of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the development opportunities China shares with the world.

The event concluded with a screening of CMG's documentary "The Path to Chinese Modernization," offering audiences insight into China's development journey.
