The Global South Media Partners Mechanism will be inaugurated on November 6 in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, during the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF).
José Richard Pouambi, president of the High Council for Communication of the Central African Republic (CAR), welcomed the initiative in a video message, saying it would create a "fairer and more equitable international communications order."
The mechanism will strengthen collaboration among Global South media through content sharing, professional training, joint productions, as well as fostering dialogue and research among participating media partners.
First held in 2011, the VMF provides an international platform for media professionals to discuss video content innovation and industry trends. This year's forum is themed "Building Consensus for Shared Benefits: Media's Role in Global Governance."
