Jamaican ambassador calls for stronger Global South media cooperation

00:27

Jamaica's Ambassador to China, Arthur Williams, called on media organizations around the world to unite, share their experiences and plan for the future as he expressed his good wishes for the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF).

The ambassador sent a congratulatory message to the forum, which will be held in the ancient city of Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on November 6. The event will be held under the theme "Building Consensus for Shared Benefits: Media's Role in Global Governance," and will also feature the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting.

The new mechanism aims to deepen collaboration among media outlets from the Global South, encouraging practical cooperation, content sharing, professional training, joint productions and fostering dialogue and research among participating media partners.

The VMF is an annual professional journalism forum launched by the CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) in 2011. It focuses on the latest trends in video content communication and innovation, providing a specialized and interactive platform for both domestic and international media peers.
