China and the European Union held an "upgraded" export control dialogue and consultations from October 31 to November 1 in Brussels, said the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Monday.

The two sides engaged in constructive and in-depth communication regarding each other's concerns over export controls, the ministry stated, adding that both sides agreed to maintain communication and exchanges to promote the stability and unimpeded flow of industrial and supply chains between China and the EU.

Jiang Qianliang, director general of the Bureau of Industry, Security, Import and Export Control of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and Denis Redonnet, deputy director-general in the Directorate General for Trade in the European Commission, held the dialogue.
