Guangdong claimed the first diving gold medal of China's 15th National Games after coming out on top in the women's team event.
The action began with the synchronized 3-meter springboard, where Guangdong's Olympic champion Chen Yiwen teamed up with world champion Lin Shan to secure victory with an overall score of 225.63 points. Another Guangdong pair, Mei Yingxin and Ou Yangyu, finished third.
In the 10-meter platform, Sichuan's world champion Lu Wei made several errors, which opened the door for Wang Weiying to pick up a second victory for Guangdong with 372.70 points.
In the 3-meter springboard, Chen Yiwen placed first after earning 373.05 points, while Lin Shan finished just three points behind.

In the women's synchronized 10-meter platform, Olympic champion Quan Hongchan teamed up with her new partner Wang to seal the title for Guangdong with a slim 0.9-point advantage over the second-placed Shanghai pair Chen Yuxi and Zhang Minjie.
This marked Quan's first event in nearly a year due to injuries, and the win with Wang helped the co-hosts capture this gold medal for the sixth time.
