First built during the Sui Dynasty (581-618), the ancient wall in Xi'an is one of the best-preserved walls of its kind in China. Stretching for some 14 kilometers, the wall comprises defensive structures such as a moat, drawbridges, gatehouses, and arrow towers. Now a key national heritage conservation area and a 5A-level scenic area, it attracts flocks of visitors every day keen to experience its charms.
