A Plateau Village Transformed

In July 2011, during a visit to Bagyi Village in Nyingchi, Xizang, Xi Jinping, who was China's vice president at the time, urged local officials to promote the collective economy. Subsequently, Bagyi has leveraged Nyingchi's geographical advantages to develop a range of collective industries. As a result, the entire village is enjoying a higher standard of living. On July 21, 2021, President Xi paid a return visit to Nyingchi, where he witnessed the remarkable transformation of the area from a decade earlier. From poverty alleviation to rural revitalization, the stories of overcoming poverty and achieving prosperity witnessed in Nyingchi are unfolding across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
