China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday that it is willing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union and explore the possibility of negotiating various trade and economic agreements, including an investment deal, to enhance trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.
Beijing has observed the EU's efforts to diversify export markets through signing more free trade agreements, said Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong at a regular news conference. He added that China is promoting a high level of opening up by proactively aligning with high-standard international economic and trade rules and steadily expanding institutional openness.
He emphasized that China and the EU share broad common interests and have significant potential for trade and investment cooperation.
