From coffee to chili, Rwandan goods win over Chinese consumers at CIIE

05:52

Rwanda's signature products are finding growing popularity among Chinese consumers. During an interview with CGTN's Zhang Meng, Rwandan Ambassador to China James Kimonyo said the country's high altitude, volcanic soil and favorable climate give its coffee, tea and chili a unique flavor and competitive edge.

He noted that Rwandan coffee, known for its smooth aroma and fully washed process, is now available on Tmall, JD.com and Taobao. Beyond coffee, tea, chili, honey and avocados are also growing in presence in the Chinese market. "We are excited about this," Ambassador Kimonyo said. "The remaining piece now is to invest heavily into production so that we can deliver more quantities to the Chinese market."
