Chen Yuxi and Zhang Minjie captured another diving title at China's 15th National Games, following their triumph at the World Championships in July, with the duo from Shanghai claiming gold in the women's synchronized 10-meter platform on Thursday in Guangzhou.
Competing for event co-host Guangdong in the final were Tokyo Olympics winners Zhang Jiaqi and Quan Hongchan, while world champion Lu Wei and her partner Li Ruixui represented Sichuan.
But it was Chen and Zhang who stood out from the very first dive. The pair maintained their lead throughout all five rounds, finishing with 350.22 points and clinching gold with a score that exceeded their winning total at the World Championships in Singapore.
Lu and Li earned silver, while Jiangsu's Liu Junxi and Meng Zerui took bronze, with Zhang and Quan missing the podium.

In the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard, Olympic champion Xie Siyi and partner Huang Bowen of Guangdong finished first in the qualifying round to reach the final. The duo, who previously claimed the national title together in May, topped another podium in their home province with 447.54 points, finishing 37.8 ahead of Jiangsu's Liu Chengming and Zhu Han.
