Wushu Day 2 at China's 15th National Games: Yao, Chen, Liu win all-round gold medals

Three gold medalists were crowned on the second day of Wushu events at China's 15th National Games, including Shanxi's Yao Yang, who claimed the women's Changquan, sword and spear all-around title on Saturday. The runner-up from the competition's 2021 edition in Xi'an took first place in the Changquan in Guangzhou with 9.830 points.

In the sword event, Yao maintained her strong performance, finishing first again with the same score. And she received 9.830 points for the third time in the spear, clinching the overall title with a total mark of 29.490 points. Jiangsu's Wang Yawen placed second, while Beijing's Wei Aixuan rounded out the podium in third.

Fujian's Chen Huiying won the women's Nanquan, Nandao, and Nangun all-around title. The 32-year-old scored 9.830 points in each event for a total of 29.490 to claim first place. Defending champion Zhang Yaling, also from Fujian, finished second with 29.430 points and Guangdong's He Aisang ended up third.

In the men's Taijiquan, Shandong's Liu Dewen initially ranked first with 9.826 points. Fujian's Hangzhou Asian Games winner Gao Haonan then delivered a strong performance with 9.810 points in the second segment, temporarily taking the lead, with Liu slipping to third. But the final segment saw Liu battle back to grab the title with the highest overall score. Fujian's Wang Yanyu earned silver, while Shandong's Ji Hao took bronze.
