The emblem and mascot are central to the identity of China's National Games, capturing the event's vision and unique qualities while attracting widespread public interest. 

Cao Xue, renowned for designing the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic mascot Bing Dwen Dwen and a torchbearer for the 15th National Games, discussed the significance of both symbols during an interview with Sports Scene.

According to Cao, while both the emblem and mascot are integral to the Games, their roles differ greatly. The emblem is more abstract and general, while the mascot offers a more concrete and relatable character that acts as a goodwill ambassador, fostering communication with the audience.

Reflecting on his experience with Bing Dwen Dwen, Cao recalled how former IOC President Thomas Bach praised the mascot's potential as an ambassador for the Winter Olympics. Cao described the honor he felt while holding the torch, noting that it evoked a sense of mission that differed from the usual creative process in the studio.
