Tucked away in Guangzhou's Zengcheng District, Gaopu Village carries more than 400 years of history and a proud legend that its people descend from Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet-official Zhang Jiuling.

Today, the village is breathing new life into its heritage through the project "Ancient Gaopu, Poetic Countryside." The plan revives the views of Gaopu once praised by Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) scholars, blending culture, architecture and nature into one poetic landscape.
