Trees withered; sand was everywhere. It was a scene that China was familiar with. Once, the country faced severe desertification and was one of the worst-impacted countries in the world. But today, China has become the first country to achieve land degradation neutrality. As the world's attention turn to COP30 in Brazil, China's experience is becoming a model for countries around the world. What's behind China's success in effective sand control?
