In Northeast China, the earth is wrapped in a thick blanket of snow for half of the year. People here have learned to survive long winters, and to create warmth in their lives. For a long time, ice and snow were seen as obstacles to progress, but times have changed. A region once dismissed has a has-been is now reawakening with new vitality. Ice and snow no longer hamper its progress, instead they are igniting its imagination and fueling its growth.
