China's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's Sichuan, set sail from Shanghai on Friday for its first sea trial.
It has completed mooring tests, equipment installation, and system checks, and will now focus on testing the reliability and stability of its power, electrical, and other systems. Launched in December 2024 with hull number 51, the ship marks a major milestone for China's next-generation amphibious fleet.
