Professor Jaya Josie from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa has been following China's five-year plans (FYP) since his country joined BRICS. He believes that the 15th FYP blueprint will lead China towards high-quality growth and create a better environment for foreign investment. He thinks this plan will "introduce some level of certainty in a world where there is uncertainty, where there is unpredictability."

The Fourth plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China concluded in October with the adoption of the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development, which sets China's strategic direction for 2026-2030, a critical period bridging past achievements and future modernization goals.
