In the men's gold-medal match, Hong Kong SAR faced Shandong in a tense, seesaw battle. The scoreline remained tight throughout, with both sides trading tries and the lead changing hands multiple times.
With the clock winding down and the teams locked in a dead heat, Hong Kong's Lee Ka To Cado broke through the Shandong defence and dove over for a decisive late try. Hong Kong converted and secured a 26–19 victory, clinching their first-ever gold medal in rugby at the National Games.
