International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry has commended China's expansive push to engage the public in sports, exemplified by the ongoing 15th National Games in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
In an interview with China Media Group afterward, she voiced strong admiration for the event's unprecedented scale.
"I've not heard of that anywhere else. So, it's so big. And the fact that there's so much intake, so many people want to be a part of that movement, I think is really significant," said the IOC president.
